Mindfulness
“Mindfulness is awareness that arises through paying attention, on purpose, in the present moment, non-judgementally.” Jon Kabat-Zinn
Mindfulness involves paying attention to what is going on inside and outside of ourselves, moment by moment. It can help us to be more present, less preoccupied or overwhelmed, and more able to deal with stress and worries. Mindfulness is an approach that can help us ‘step away’ from our thoughts when we are overthinking and anxious. We can practice mindfulness anywhere at any time, even for just a few seconds.
To learn more about mindfulness and its benefits you can view this Introduction to Mindfulness video, and we have also put together a document for you to get more information about mindfulness practice. Information about our Mindfulness sessions can be found on the Wellbeing Activities webpage.
