Counselling

Being a student can bring a variety of challenges that may impact your wellbeing. We can offer you counselling, support and information to help you deal with difficulties you may face while studying with us.

How to get an appointment

Counselling Assessment Appointments can be booked on My HWU using the booking tile. The 45-minute confidential appointment is a chance to talk to a Counsellor about your situation and explore options for support.

Following this appointment you may be offered further regular counselling sessions, given information, or signposted to another suitable service. Please note there is normally a waiting period for regular counselling sessions following assessment.

Counselling Drop-in: For immediate support the Counselling Drop-in is held every weekday between 2 and 3pm at Student Wellbeing during the September and January semesters. During this brief meeting with a Counsellor you can receive support, talk something over or find out more about the service. You may have to wait a few minutes to be seen.

Please email StudentCounselling@hw.ac.uk for inquiries or for help to make an appointment.
