Attendance
The University has made some changes to how student attendance is monitored for learning sessions (e.g timetabled lectures, seminars, tutorials, workshops and laboratory sessions). The attendance policy will come into effect from the start of Academic Year 2015/2016 for all students studying at Heriot-Watt University.
Your School will let you know the required levels of attendance and communicate them clearly through appropriate channels. Student attendance will be monitored at course level and if you are deemed to have not met these requirements, the revised Compulsory Withdrawal Procedures: Unsatisfactory Attendance can be used by Schools. The only exception shall be if students have ill health or other mitigating circumstances which prevent student attendance.
