12. Pinus ponderosa
The Western yellow pine is native to N.W. America and Canada. It is the most widely distributed Pine species in North America. The tallest one measured was 81.77 metres (268.29 feet) high. This one is about 14 metres (45 feet) tall. They are grown as ornamental trees in parks and big gardens. The seeds are eaten by Squirrels, Quail and Grouse.
