What appealed to you most about Heriot-Watt University?
I knew that Heriot-Watt was famous for its engineering programmes and after doing some research, I discovered that it is one of the best universities, not only in Scotland, but also in the UK. I was impressed with the strong connections with industry and the amazing number of students who find jobs within six months of graduation.
Do you feel your degree has prepared you well for a career?
I have just started my third year of studies but I already feel prepared for my future career. The University has equipped me with both theoretical knowledge and experience. I have already worked on four real-world engineering projects which have helped me to gain the required insight into the ways engineering can be put into practice.
Has your degree programme helped you develop links with industry?
My programme has helped me to find an internship with a well-respected company in my field of studies. The University has great connections with a vast number of different companies and organises a lot of events which bring them together.
What would you say to prospective students considering studying at Heriot-Watt?
As I found out from my very first day, Heriot-Watt University offers a very warm and friendly environment due to the helpful staff and the lively and multi-cultural student community. What is more, the academics prepare you for meeting the requirements of your future career.
