Brexit and the EU
Heriot-Watt is a global university with strong and abiding links across Europe and the rest of the world.
Nearly half of our Scottish campus students come from abroad, and of those nearly one in ten are from Europe. They enrich our warm and friendly communities in Scotland and provide a truly vibrant and global experience enjoyed by all of our students.
The decision by the UK electorate to leave the European Union has not changed our mission. We are proud to be a global university, a community of scholars welcoming all those who can contribute to our work and society.
EU citizens' rights in the UK
The UK Government reached an agreement with the EU on citizen's rights. The agreement will provide EU citizens and their family members living in the UK certainty about their rights after we leave the EU and most importantly, allow them to stay here. There will be reciprocal protections for UK nationals living in the EU.
