Global College
Undergraduate Study
Global College programmes offer an alternative route to begin your degree offering direct entry to second-year study across our undergraduate degrees.
For international students a key benefit of applying for the four-year programme is that the University would be able to sponsor you now for a visa that covers the entire duration of your foundation year and subsequent degree programme. To be eligible for the four-year programme your English must be at a level equivalent to CEFR Level B2. See our English language requirements for more information.
If you're coming from Scotland, England, Wales or Northern Ireland, you can apply for one of our four-year programmes that offer an alternative route to begin your degree offering direct entry to second-year study across our undergraduate degrees.
Postgraduate Study
Our Pre-Masters programmes are designed to prepare students for postgraduate taught study in a learning environment that’s been specifically created for you to thrive in.
How to Apply
Undergraduate Study
Applications to Global College at the UK campus from the UK should be made online through the Universities & Colleges Admissions Service (UCAS). Applicants from overseas can choose to apply via UCAS or directly via our online application form.
Postgraduate Study
You can apply via our online application form.
When to Apply
We offer September and January intakes for most of our programmes in the Global College. Please check the course pages for any applicable deadline.
Supporting documents
If you are applying via UCAS we will contact you if we require any additional information. Direct applicants should follow the process below.
Once you create an account, please fill in and submit your application form. The application status will show as ‘submitted' and you can then proceed to upload your supporting documents.
The only document you are required to upload initially for your application to be reviewed is your academic transcript/marks sheet. However, we recommend you upload the following documents (including certified translation if applicable):
- Academic transcript (if you haven't graduated yet, please include your transcript to date or predicted grades)
- A copy of the picture page of your passport if you are an international student.
- Evidence of English language if English is not your first language. Please find information of the types of English evidence we can accept.
In some cases, after your application is reviewed you may be requested to provide additional documents such as:
- Supporting or personal statement/statement of purpose
- CV
- Academic reference
Once your academic transcript has been uploaded in slot marked with an asterisk *, the application status will show as ‘Completed' and will be reviewed by the Admissions team, we will get in touch with you directly if we require anything else from you.
How we process your application
All applications will be carefully considered and you will receive a response as soon as possible. For some programmes, where the volume of applications is very high, this may be several weeks but for most programmes, you should hear from us within 3 weeks.
The response that you receive from the admissions team will be either:
- an unconditional offer
- a conditional offer (further supporting documentation will be required, such as a copy of your degree certificate if you had not completed your degree when you first submitted your application)
- a request for more information
- regretfully, a decision to reject your application
Tracking your application
UCAS applicants can use the tracking service on your UCAS Hub account to keep up-to-date with your progress and reply to your offers. Direct applicants can view the latest on their application by logging into your application account. We’ll send you an email to notify you when an update has been made.
For conditional offers: We advise you to meet conditions as soon as possible to ensure there is time to process the paperwork required for student visa applications (if required) and prepare for enrolment.
Once you have met all the conditions, your offer will be made unconditional.
All firm offer holders will receive an email ahead of the start of term, with instructions on how to enrol onto your programme.
International Students
If you are from overseas and are self-funding your studies we will ask you to pay an advanced instalment on your fees. We will provide details of this with your offer or at acceptance stage.
If you are under 18 we will require parental consent and will contact you to request this.
The University is able to sponsor suitably qualified students for a visa to study in the UK. If you require a visa we will contact you once you have met all the condition on your offer and have accepted this with information on what to do next.
Deferring your offer
If you have already applied and are now unable to start your studies as planned, you can request to change your start date. Our Deferral Policy provides guidance as to when and how deferrals can be requested and the rationale for accepting or declining this request.
