HWUM Student Bags Gold Medal at Open Taekwondo Championship

The success of Heriot-Watt University Malaysia (HWUM) students in securing a gold medal in sports proves the University’s commitment in producing future-made, holistic impactful leaders.

Elliesya Adliena Mohd Yusrizal, an Undergraduate student from School of Social Sciences recently secured the gold medal at the 5th IPT & Open UPSI Taekwondo Championship.

“It was an honour to win the medal for Heriot-Watt University Malaysia (HWUM) as this is my first time representing the university for a tournament.”

Her dedication and enthusiasm in Taekwondo has awarded her a gold medal which has further led her to set a bigger ambition in the Taekwondo sport, that is to qualify for SUKMA 2024.

“I aspire to fight more for the University, and I will do my best for the SUKMA 2024 qualification in Sarawak,” said Elliesya.

Her Impact Statement reads – “I am a supporter. My purpose is to inspire people to be passionate with things they love to do. I will help others to be passionate with things they love to do and give full support to motivate them.”
