Heriot-Watt University Malaysia (HWUM) organised the Scholarship Awards Ceremony 2024, which acknowledged over 20 students who earned various scholarships with HWUM. This ceremony was sought to recognise and celebrate the achievements of these diligent and promising future-made leaders.
The event commenced with a welcoming address and inspiring speech from HWUM Provost and Chief Executive Officer, Professor Mushtak Al-Atabi.
He also graciously welcomed the secondary school representatives of these excellent students – Ms Renee Wong and Mr Chai Yoon Heng, Founders of Prime International Secondary School Puchong; Mr Renato Dela Peña, Secondary Coordinator Key Stage 4 from Tzu Chi International School Kuala Lumpur. Over 50 students, parents, lecturers and staff were present to brighten up this wonderful event.
In the ceremony, we proudly celebrated the remarkable accomplishments of four students from Foundation programme January 2023 intake who have been selected as the Top Students in their respective subjects. These outstanding students have demonstrated unparalleled dedication and proficiency in their academic pursuits, earning them the esteemed title of Top Student across eight subjects. Additionally, we proudly presented the Foundation Top Student Awards to outstanding students.
Lye Ze Ern was honoured as the Top Student for Foundation in Business and Ng Meng Chuen as the Top Student for Foundation in Science, attesting to their remarkable achievement and commitment to academic excellence. These awards are not only to acknowledge individual accomplishments but also a commitment to nurture and recognise excellence within our educational community. The ceremony marked a significant occasion, celebrating the academic prowess of these high-achieving students.
The occasion concluded with a group photo session, followed by some light refreshments.
