A business advisory board (BAB), comprising key industry players was established by Edinburgh Business School (EBS) at Heriot-Watt University Malaysia (HWUM).
The advisory board is tasked to provide counsel to the school in its role as a leading player in business and management education and research in Malaysia. The board will provide insights for world-class business programmes that meet the demands of today's industry and commerce.
In line with advice from the Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA), the BAB will also identify relevant industry developments for the Edinburgh Business School that nurture future ready business leaders, equipped with the skills and knowledge to navigate an increasingly volatile, uncertain, complex and ambiguous (VUCA) business world.
The Business Advisory Board (BAB) will be chaired by Farouk Abdullah MBA with 7 members as below:
- Charles Brewer, Chief Executive Officer of Pos Malaysia
- Chris Eng Poh Yoon, Chief Strategy Officer of Etiqa Takaful Berhad
- Allan Jensen, General Manager of Danfoss Malaysia and HWU Alumnus
- Chai Ping Chua, HR Director and Country Site Leader of Experian
- Dato Darawati Hussein (RHB, Mavap, AOB)
- Emeliana Rice Oxley, Vice President of Exploration, Petronas
- Farouk Abdullah, CEO Natural Intelligence Solutions Technology Sdn Bhd. (a Berjaya Subsidiary) and HWU Alumnus.
The BAB, which consists of industry players and EBS-HWU alumni, will convene on a timely basis each semester to provide input on new products and services related to business that meet industry needs.
