What appealed to you most about studying at Heriot-Watt when you made the decision to come?
I loved the campus when I came to the Open Day. I had also done work experience with Arup and most of their graduate engineers had studied at Heriot-Watt and spoke highly of the course.
What is your favourite memory of your time at Heriot-Watt?
After our fourth year exams my friends and I stayed on campus and spent time by the Loch as some of our group were graduating with a BEng so that was the end of their degree - we even had sunshine and prosecco!
How has your degree programme prepared you for a career?
My degree had industry led design projects in both fourth and fifth year which gave us insight into how design consultancies work and how our learning feeds into the job.
What would you say to prospective students considering Heriot-Watt as their first choice of university?
I'd do it all over again! Heriot-Watt is hard work but the degree you come out with is more than just the academic skills – you build relationships with industry while you study and have the opportunity of practical building experience at Constructionarium.
