Academic study skills
There is a lot of support available to all members of Heriot Watt University for developing the academic skills needed to succeed at university and beyond. Below are links to the various services that can help.
Information, IT and study skills support is provided by Information Services through teaching, one-to-one consultations and online guides. This includes providing support on topics such as academic writing, time management, citing and referencing, literature searching and using Microsoft Office packages.
The Maths and Statistics Help page also outlines resources to help all students to develop these skills.
Students at the Edinburgh campus can also take advantage of one-to-one consultations on academic writing with staff from the Academic English department during semester.
There are also a range of other services across the University which provide help and support on a range of issues related to academic skills development, including the Disability Service and Careers Service.
