He is also a chartered Chemical Engineer and a chartered member of Institution of Chemical Engineers. He is currently the Programme Director of Studies of Chemical Engineering programme.
Lik Yin’s teaching experience covers across all years of Chemical Engineering BEng/MEng programmes from mass and energy balances in year 1, separation processes and process simulation software tools in year 2, energy utilisation and process integration in year 3 to biochemical processes in year 4. He is also actively involved as supervisor for design projects. In terms of research, Lik Yin’s research expertise covers areas of Process System Engineering (PSE), especially on computer-aided molecular design (CAMD) and process synthesis, integration and optimisation. He then applied his research skills to develop methodology for green chemical design and synthesis of green processing routes. His current research interests focus on utilisation of different PSE tools in addressing sustainable development goals
