Biography

Isobel Fletcher is a chartered chemical engineer and member of the Institution of Chemical Engineers. She graduated from UMIST in 1982, spent seven years working in R and D for the food industry before completing a PhD in biochemical engineering at Birmingham University. A few more years industrial R and D at TUVNEL before entering academia. Research into composting, leaching from industrial wastes (Paisley University) followed by high pressure viscometry and ionic liquid electrolytes (Strathclyde University). Teaching all undergraduate years plus Masters level (Heriot-Watt).
