Why did you decide to study at Heriot-Watt University, Dubai?
While Heriot-Watt maintains one of the best rankings in the UK education system, it also provides a solid pathway to other top-ranking British universities for international students.
The campus is not just limited to Edinburgh but also Malaysia and Dubai. This was another big reason why I chose Heriot-Watt as I received the same standard of education in Dubai as I would have with Heriot-Watt in the UK. As Dubai is closer to my home country, university life was much easier to manage here.
What did you enjoy most about your programme?
Being a former student in the UK, I had experienced a mix of international students but I was amazed that there was almost the same percentage of students from different countries on my programme in Dubai. I enjoyed getting to know all of my colleagues and making lifelong friendships with some of them. Taking part in student clubs and attending almost all of the events on campus were also the happiest moments of mine at Heriot-Watt which I will never forget.
What will being a graduate of Heriot-Watt University do for your future?
Successfully passing the DEP Engineering programme at Heriot-Watt University, Dubai, in my opinion has undoubtedly carved a fine pathway to a bright future. It has provided me with a persistent, sustainable base which has laid the foundation for the first step towards my career.
What was the highlight of your time at Heriot-Watt?
Starting one month late after the induction week, the highlight of my time at Heriot-Watt was getting settled with all of my colleagues in such a short space of time that it felt like family in just a matter of days. Making life-long memories and inseparable friendship bonds in just five months of my time at Heriot-Watt due to COVID-19 was just the most beautiful experience.
Describe Heriot-Watt University in four words:
