Kathryn Taylor
Kathryn Taylor has worked at Heriot-Watt University for almost 11 years and started her career with the University in 2011, as Student Experience Officer, setting up the first Careers Advisory & Alumni Service at Dubai Campus. As well as providing careers advice to students Kathryn has gained a wide breadth of knowledge and experience of external engagement in Dubai that includes networking with industry and HWU Alumni on and off site and hosting large career fairs for students to connect with companies for internships, graduate jobs, and professional networking.
In 2019, Kathryn was able to specialise her work to her current role as Alumni Engagement Officer where she works with Alumni to help them stay connected to the University as well as working closely with Academic Schools, Professional Service departments and Business Development in the University to support a variety of projects that require Alumni engagement, expertise, and insight. Kathryn is also part of the wider Development and Alumni Team providing global events and points of interest for Alumni to stay connected globally.
​​​​​​​As a key member of EEG, Kathryn provides updates on the external engagement taking place with and for Alumni of Heriot-Watt and identifies opportunities for Alumni to collaborate on the various projects shared by EEG members.
​​​​​​​Kathryn also manages the secretariat functions of the group, supporting the Chair to ensure the smooth running and recording of meetings along with the dissemination and follow up of actions assigned to members.
Dr. Jelena Janjusevic
Dr. Jelena Janjusevic is Associate Professor in Finance and Academic Head of Accounting, Economics and Finance and Executive Education at Edinburgh Business School, Heriot Watt University, Dubai Campus. Previously she used to teach at Montenegro Business School, University of Mediterranean in Montenegro. She also has strong managerial and research experience.
She is an academic member of the School of Social Sciences, working on development of executive education as well as enhancement and strengthening of the links and cooperation of SoSS with industry.
In her previous role, besides managing the Centre for Sustainable Development, UNDP and Government of Montenegro Research Centre, she was also engaged on many different projects dealing with macroeconomic, sustainable development, public administration capacity building (initiating number reforms in energy sector, urban planning, financial, health, pension system, education system, investments, business environment, legislation improvement, etc.).
In her 18 years of experience, she has worked closely with senior government officials, municipalities, social partners and international institution representatives such as World Bank, International Finance Corporation and more. She has a very good knowledge of econometrics, statistics, organizing surveys, focus groups, trend analysis, deep interviews, planning and organizing trainings, and has prepared several macroeconomic, socio-economic and financial analyses and papers.
Charlotte Ramsay
Charlotte Ramsay joined Heriot-Watt University Dubai in August 2020 in the role of Student Life Manager and Deputy Head of Registry and Student Life (RAS). Prior to this, she spent 10 years at Northumbria University in the UK working as the Collaborative Ventures manager for the Faculty of Business and Law and then as the Academic Operations Manager for both The Faculty of Engineering and Environment and then Business and Law.
As the Student Life Manager, she is responsible for Heriot-Watt University Dubai’s Careers service and works closely with the Employer Liaison team to maximise opportunities for students in particular internships, graduate jobs, placements and careers fairs.
As a member of EEG, Charlotte Ramsay updates the group on current activities and identifies further areas for collaboration through liaising with other EEG members.
​​​​​​​Charlotte Ramsay graduated from the University of Leeds with an LLB in Law and Management in 2006.
Tolulope Oyewusi
Tolu Oyewusi joined Heriot-Watt in December 2020 as the Employer Liaison Officer in the Careers and Graduate Futures department. Previously, he worked as a Sports Marketing Intern at the University of Leicester and a Customer Experience Assistant at Limelight Sports Agency.
As the Employer Liaison Officer, he manages the relationships between the careers department and external companies, seeking out the best employment opportunities for current students and graduates as well as organising multiple careers events throughout the academic year.
As an EEG member, he updates the group on current activities within the careers department and is a lead contributor to the university’s CRM database of industry contacts, Salesforce.
​​​​​​​​​​​​​​Tolu graduated from the University of Leicester in 2017 with an LLB in Law with French, and from the University of Law in 2020 with a PGDip Legal Practice Course with MSc Law, Business & Management.
