Dr Viktorija Manois an Assistant Professor at the Heriot-Watt University Dubai. Research
Dr. Mano is an early-career researcher specializing in economic development research. Her background includes mixed-method analysis and critical institutional theory, with experience in both quantitative and qualitative analysis underpinned by complexity theory and non-linearism.
Her earlier research publications and funding focused on promoting findings from her PhD studies through numerous conferences funded by various institutions, including Poznan University, Santander Bank, the Society of Latin American Studies, and the University of Roehampton. Her work has resulted in several outputs, such as journal articles, book chapters, conference proceedings, and blogs.
Dr. Viktorija is also deeply passionate about gender inclusivity, specifically creating opportunities for women to feel economically empowered. As an active scholar in economics and finance, she has consistently engaged in promoting innovative approaches in economic teaching and supporting women economists. Consequently, she was awarded a stipend by the Royal Economic Society to participate in the Women in Economic Research retreat and is an active member of Rethinking Economics, a global network of students and organizers advocating for a new approach to teaching and practicing economics in response to inequality and climate change. Additionally, she has received Erasmus Staff Mobility funding for two consecutive years and is continuously working on projects aimed at economically empowering women.
Throughout her education, Dr. Viktorija has been a recipient of multiple stipends. She was awarded a three-year Vice Chancellor's Studentship for her PhD research at the University of Roehampton, where her research focused on evaluating the effectiveness of economic policies in transitional economies, contributing valuable insights to the economic and social research fields. She also received a scholarship for her undergraduate studies in Economics from the Ministry of Education in Greece. Additionally, as part of her secondary education, she was awarded a government stipend for talented classical musicians by the Ministry of Education of Macedonia.
