About

Dr. Sunita Mathur is a Program Director and Assistant Professor of Accounting and Finance at Edinburgh Business School, Heriot-Watt University Dubai. With over two decades of international teaching and management experience in higher education, Dr. Mathur has taught in Canada, India, and the UAE. In addition to teaching a wide range of undergraduate (UG) and postgraduate (PG) courses in Accounting and Finance, she also supervises UG and PG dissertations. Dr. Mathur is a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (SFHEA) and a member of CPA Australia.

Research

 

Dr. Mathur’s research interests and expertise lie in IFRS and its harmonization and convergence in emerging economies, the regulatory framework of international financial reporting and its conceptual framework, internationalization and harmonization of financial reporting, the future of financial accounting, environmental, social, and governance (ESG) reporting, and the role of AI in accounting. She focuses on specific IFRS standards, including IFRS 15, IAS 38, IAS 36, and IAS 16.

Dr. Mathur received the "Certificate of Excellence" for Best Presentation/Best Content at the Academicsera International Conference held in Rome, Italy, on August 25-26, 2019.
