About
Dr. Steven Glasgow is the Associate Head of the Management Department (Dubai), responsible for the leadership of the Management department’s programmes, academics and strategy at a UG and PG level. As an Associate Professor of Human Resource Management, Steven’s teaching and research expertise include Diversity Management, Workplace Power Dynamics, and Tourism.
Steven has been with Heriot-Watt since 2010, first joining the Edinburgh campus as an undergraduate student on the MA (Hons) Business Management programme. In 2014, Steven was awarded the ‘Moffat Scholarship,' a fully funded PhD scholarship at Heriot-Watt to explore gender inequality within the Scottish Tourism Industry, and during this time published several works, including articles in ABS listed journals.
Steven joined the Dubai campus in 2017, and has since focused his efforts on implementing change through academic leadership. As well as Associate Head of the Management Department, Steven is also the Global Chair of the Disciplinary Committee for the School of Social Sciences, Vice Chair of the University wide Academic Integrity Group, and founding board member of the Centre for Academic Integrity in the UAE. Past roles include Programme Director for the Bachelors of Business Administration programme, and Head of External Faculty.
In terms of teaching, Steven has taught several courses at a UG and PG level in areas of Human Resource Management.

Steven has received three learning & teaching awards for his practice, voted by the student body.
