Dr. Maheen Hasib is an Assistant Professor in the School of Mathematical and Computer Sciences at Heriot-Watt University, Dubai Campus. She is the Global Programme Director for BSc Data Sciences. Dr. Maheen completed her undergraduate and PhD in Telecommunications from Queen Mary, University of London. Her specialization includes Statistical Modelling, Categorical Data Analysis, Statistical Machine Learning, Statistical Computing, Data Analytics, Educational Data Mining, Inference, and Simulation. She is a member of the Institute of Engineering and Technology (IET) and the Association of Data Scientists (ADaSci). She is also an ambassador for Women in Data Science (WiDS).
Her teaching areas include Probability and Statistics, Linear Algebra, Statistical Models, Data Analytics, Calculus, Python, Research Methods, Machine Learning, Statistical Computing, Statistical Inference, Sampling Techniques and Survey Methods, Software Engineering, Generalized Linear Modelling, and the Application of Statistical and Linear Algebra techniques for data compression.
