Research
Oumer strongly believes that research and teaching should work closely together, as these activities complement each other in a researcher's career. Throughout his academic and professional career, he has focused on numerical and experimental research and development in the thermal-fluid field. Recently, he has concentrated on studying the thermal-hydraulic performance of supercritical CO2 in cooling processes. The aim of this work is to develop a comprehensive program for characterising supercritical CO2 for industrial cooling applications.
His extensive research experience includes computational fluid dynamics (CFD), the thermal and hydraulic performance of supercritical carbon dioxide, compact heat exchangers, flow-induced fibre orientation in polymer composites, and renewable energy.
