Research
Anton Storey’s research is rooted in exploring human-computer interaction within virtual environments and metaverse systems. He delves into how semiotic theories of signs and symbols can shape innovative interaction paradigms suited for these digital worlds.
Focusing on the transformative potential of semiotic abstractions, Anton investigates how they can enhance usability, appeal, comprehension, and accessibility in virtual spaces that lack real-world affordances. His previous research involved analysing existing literature to build conceptual frameworks that integrate semiotics into next-generation experiential platforms within the metaverse.
Anton is dedicated to developing broadly applicable guidelines for semiotics-driven user experience design, aiming to make mixed-reality ecosystems more intuitive and meaningful. His work seeks to empower diverse participation across social, creative, educational, and e-commerce domains.
