Student Insight Community
What is the Student Insight Community?
As a current student of Heriot-Watt University there will be times when we want to gather your feedback and opinions to help us learn about your student experience. The Student Insight Community is your opportunity to contribute to different initiatives that come up throughout the year. This could be:
- Providing feedback on your university journey
- Evaluating key messaging and communications initiatives
- Providing feedback on campaign ideas or new and existing programmes
- Testing new areas of our website or new apps
Why should I join?
In addition to helping HWU improve our processes for students, we will offer incentives to thank you for your time.
It’s a great way for you to earn a little extra. Focus groups will be paid with vouchers and surveys will be incentivised with voucher prize draws.
What’s next?
To join our Student Insight Community, you must be a current student of HWU. We also ask that you are open to participating in projects regularly.
Once you have signed up to the Community, we will contact you when we have a suitable project. We will normally select on a first-come first-serve basis.

Who are we?
The Student Insight Community will be administered by staff members within the Marketing, Recruitment, Admissions and Communication (MRAC) department. We are Market Research and Insights professionals and adhere to the Market Research Society’s code of conduct.
