Digital Construction Technologies

The Digital Construction Technologies (DCT) group focuses on advancing the use of cutting-edge digital tools in the architecture, engineering, and construction (AEC) industries. Specialization includes Heritage Building Information Modelling (HBIM), utilizing AI and algorithms to extract value from digital data for heritage building surveys, maintenance, and fabric repair. We are exploring Building Information Modelling (BIM) and Digital Twins applications for enhanced visualization and project management. Additional focus areas include automated Building Life Cycle Assessment (LCA), Life Cycle Inventory (LCI) database integration, operational energy simulation, and machine learning for sustainable, net-zero buildings.
