Why did you decide to study your PhD at Heriot-Watt University?

The topic of the PhD was highly interesting and out of the box. It seemed to me that the proposed study would use an innovative method to investigate an intriguing problem (i.e. groundwater chemistry variations induced by distant earthquakes).

What was your experience of studying your PhD with the Carbonate Reservoirs group at Heriot-Watt University?

Best choice I could ever make for my future career. When I arrived the group was not there yet, but it grew rapidly in a short time and we started to share quality time both on a scientific and personal level. Many of us are still in touch and actually good friends and colleagues.

Can you tell us a bit about what you're currently doing?

I am an Assistant Professor in the Department of Earth Sciences at the University of Geneva. As far as I know all the most motivated members of our group have gone on to successful post-PhD careers, either in academia or in the industry.
