Why did you decide to study the MSc in Petroleum Engineering at HWU?
Coming from a geology background, I needed a training to give me the opportunity and experience to break into the already competitive oil & gas industry as an engineer. The most beautiful thing about Heriot-Watt and IPE for me was the opportunity to be tutored, partnered with and mentored by established consultants/professionals in the industry. The group and individual projects were just awesome.
What was my experience of studying your Masters at Heriot-Watt University?
In two words I would say ‘interestingly challenging'. It was for me an opportunity to explore new concepts while working in a very amiable multicultural team with diverse skills affording me the opportunity to learn, develop my career and enrich my network.
Can you tell us a bit about what you're currently doing?
I am currently working as a drilling engineer responsible for drilling an array of wells to both explore and develop oilfields in the Niger Delta of Nigeria. It's so interesting to finally get a chance to apply acquired skills to productive ends in the ‘real world'. It can only get better!
The MSc Petroleum Engineering gave me the opportunity to learn, develop my career and enrich my network.
