Why did you choose to pursue your PG at Heriot-Watt University Malaysia?

I had made the decision to pursue my master's degree, and I was looking for the best university to do so. An ideal university for me was one that was internationally recognised, offered a part-time programme that fit with my professional schedule, and allowed me to pursue a programme in an interesting field despite coming from a different undergraduate background. Heriot-Watt University Malaysia's MSc Business Psychology programme offered all of the above.

Does the quality of the programme meet your expectations? Why?

The quality of the programme exceeded my expectations. I did not expect the high academic standard and focus on student development that I received at Heriot-Watt University. The rigorous emphasis on academic thinking and academic process imparted to me the gravity of the work being done at Heriot-Watt University Malaysia. I also truly valued the support that the university extends to its students and how much positive psychology and coaching are a part of the academic culture.

How would you describe the quality of the teaching staff and the extent to which they supported you throughout your studies?

The teaching staff is very passionate about their respective fields of study. They are very professional, and they take their students' development seriously. I was very impressed by the number of auxiliary programmes (e.g., webinars, one-on-one consultations) that were made available to students to augment their learning and academic experience.

Do you think that this postgraduate degree increases your chances in the workforce?

I already see the benefits of my studies in my day-to-day work. I am more analytical and thorough in my thinking and my approach to problem solving. I also have a better understanding of social and psychological dynamics in the workplace. I have no doubt that this will have long-term advantages for my career growth.

What advice would you give a student considering coming to Malaysia and studying at Heriot-Watt University Malaysia?
