Senate Committee for Interim Business and Effectiveness
The Senate Committee for Interim Business and Effectiveness is established as a Committee of the Senate and its purpose is to assist the Senate to maintain its effectiveness, assist the governance of the Senate, assist the administration of the Senate and conduct urgent business on behalf of the Senate in exceptional circumstances.
The Senate, through the Senate Statement of Primary Responsibilities and Delegations, delegates authority to the Senate Committee for Interim Business and Effectiveness to undertake a range of tasks. The Senate also makes clear the powers that are reserved to the Senate. Further powers are delegated to the Committee by the Senate within its Terms of Reference.
