Project Title

Changes in the expansion of the South East Pacific Oxygen Minimum Zone since the Last Glacial Maximum using benthic foraminifera community ecology

Abstract

Benthic foraminifera ecology is a potential proxy to estimate qualitative dissolved oxygen levels, and they have been used to study vertical expansion of the Oxygen Minimum Zone (OMZ) in different regions. The aim of this project is to study the vertical expansion of the South East Pacific OMZ, using the benthic foraminifera ecology as a potential proxy to estimate semiquantitative dissolved oxygen levels since the Last Glacial Maximum to Early Holocene.
