About
Mari Cruz is a key contact for advice and support with learning technology at Heriot-Watt University. Specifically, Mari Cruz can assist with key systems such as the VLE, Collaborate Ultra and other centrally supported learning technologies. Mari Cruz can provide pedagogical expertise as well as technical skills to support staff with enhancing teaching and learning through technology.
Mari Cruz (MSEng, MSc, PGCERT, HEAF, SFHEA) is an experienced educational consultant who has led digital transformation at three world-class universities in the UK: Heriot-Watt University, University of Edinburgh and the University of Dundee. In her previous appointment, at the Heriot-Watt Online project, she designed and implemented new quality assurance (QA) procedures to guarantee good practices in online design and best use of University´s virtual learning environment. She also wrote and developed a new induction course to make EGIS postgraduate students aware of the digital, study and academic skills that they need to develop for a successful online study.
Mari Cruz is a Councillor at the Council of Spanish Citizens in the UK (North constituency) and member of the EU27 Group at the Home Office.
