Margaret Watson
The late Margaret Watson was the mother of alumna Fiona Watson, Political Advisor to the UN, who was tragically killed in a terrorist bomb explosion in Baghdad in 2003. To perpetuate Fiona's memory Fiona's family established a memorial fund which, each year, awards a three-month internship with peace-keeping departments in the UN in New York. Sixteen graduates in languages and interpreting have so far been set on their career path thanks to this funding. Sadly both Fiona's parents have now passed away, but her brother, Hamish is continuing to develop, promote and support this incredible opportunity and we think Mrs Watson was an inspiring, much deserving Watt Legend.
