Paula Pacheco

Races translates to "roots" in English and it's what bring us home when we're lost. That's why I wanted to bring a piece of home for my final Honours project.

Flamenco, as an art and culture heritage was born in the streets of Seville around the immigrant and lower income population, nowadays, the flamenco dress has been transformed into "luxury fashion" for high-end individuals, the purpose of my final collection is to reflect on this and return flamenco fashion to its origins, the streets. Reinventing it from a streetwear approach and making it wearable for everyday lifestyle.

This capsule collection is inspired by main elements of flamenco and Spanish culture, but they are introduced in a subtle way, leaving the stereotypical vision behind and focusing on detaiI. As an immigrant over the past five years, representing my home through fashion and leaving the stereotypical vision behind, is a dream made truth.
