'Wonderland: Where Boys Cry' by Matea Mandaric

This collection is a conceptual expression of a surreal 'Wonderland' where boys are allowed to cry. It inspires conversation around young men being able to express themselves and their emotions/mental health concerns without fear of predjudice from societal norms. The garments serve as interpretations of different mental states as the extreme visualisations of mental disorders inspired by the symbolic psyches of characters from 'Alice in Wonderland'. Drawing from menswear icons who question masculinity as well, the collection emulates their edgy styles and rebellious nature. Targeting a young, politically and socially active male generation who are not afraid to expresss themselves, the collection plays on society's expectations of masculine behaviour and dress.
