'Life and Death' or 'الØياة Ùˆ الموت' by Massra Darmish
The name of the collection 'Life and Death' translates to “الØياة Ùˆ الموت “ (Alhayat Wa Al-Mawt) in Arabic.
This collection draws inspiration from witnessing an earthquake in Marrakech, Morocco as I was on holiday. This experience permanently shifted my perspective on life and struck a creative spark within me, the contrast of destruction and vitality inspired me to explore earthquake waves, particularly the seismic S-wave (which symbolises death in the designs), clashing with the resilience of Morocco’s palm trees (which represents long life in the designs). This contemporary womenswear collection seamlessly blends snug-fitting and loose/flowy pieces, reflecting the duality of existence.
