'Anadyomene' by Hannah Brummit

Anadyomene, is based on themes drawn from Sandro Botticelli’s 'The Birth of Venus'. Focusing on ideas surrounding the ocean by looking at the movement of water and the shapes and reflections it makes as inspiration for aesthetic, silhouette and texture.

Looking at the movement of water you see fluid motion and organic shapes and textures like waves, ripples and seafoam, these motifs are used throughout the collection in the textiles and fabric dying process as well as the draping and pattern cutting techniques used.

With particular emphasis on femininity this collection looks at ideas of beauty in women in comparison to the beauty found in nature and what similarities exist between the two.
