This project is based on a personal experience of grief.

Inspired by historical and contemporary practices of storytelling through cloth. I aimed to utilise the communicative capabilities of textiles to tell a story of mourning my father. Influenced by these practices I created my own visual language through woven textiles; that serve as a memorialisation.

Design elements including colour, text and imagery were used to create the visual narrative. Various techniques of weaving were employed, and incorporated embroidery, to produce this collection. Creation of the textiles also aided in betterment of mental wellbeing through investigation of weavings therapeutic properties.
