This project explores integrating South Asian cultural heritage into sustainable fashion entrepreneurship. It examines how traditional practices, craftsmanship, and cultural values can inspire eco-friendly fashion brands that resonate with modern consumers.
The fashion industry is grappling with pressing environmental and social issues, contributing to 10% of global carbon emissions and generating a staggering 92 million tons of solid waste annually. South Asian traditions, with their focus on artisanal craftsmanship and sustainable methods, offer a timely opportunity to tackle these challenges. This project is dedicated to identifying and documenting effective strategies that harness these traditions for sustainable fashion entrepreneurship.
