Rebecca Gray

Textile Project

Transforming worn silk and cotton garments into vibrant unisex concepts, my textile project merges digital printing, screen printing, and embroidery techniques.

Drawing inspiration from graffiti's harshness and grit, I infuse imagery reflective of my interests as a 22-year-old, into delicate designs with the use of silk fabric properties. Each piece embodies a mix of creativity, sustainability, and youthful expression to revitalise forgotten fabrics.

The unisex nature of my garments promotes inclusivity and versatility, breaking traditional gender norms in fashion. With the fashion industry responsible for 10% of global carbon emissions and 20% of wastewater, it was important to me that my design approach minimised environmental impact.
