Serenity

‘Serenity’ explores the use of slow processes to bring slow fashion into high-end runway styles, proving that sustainable practices can still create stylish and modern garments with consideration of the lifecycle of the garments post and after wear.

The project aims to create fashion outcomes that translate the fluidity and organic structure of nature using sustainable practices, materials, and dyes. All yarns were 100% wool and either undyed or naturally dyed, so that the afterlife of the textiles could be considered. The use of wool and natural dyes meant that the garments produced could be composted.

Knit development focused on creating organic shapes and followed a creative approach that was led more by the growth of samples and through experimentation on mannequins, rather than by specific planning.
