Croft to Coast

The Shetland Isles, renowned for their yarns and knitwear featuring intricate patterns, hold potential for revitalizing their weaving industry by drawing inspiration from the thriving knitwear sector.

Inspired by landscapes and artist Mike Staniford, I used chalks, acrylics, and watercolours to recreate textures and colours in my paintings. Translating these into yarn warps and CADs, I developed a collection of fabrics for autumn/winter formal streetwear jackets, targeted at men aged 25 to 35.

This collection merges tradition and innovation, blending weaving with streetwear aesthetics to offer a modern canvas for individual expression - symbolising a vibrant synthesis of colours and textures.
