'Ocean Blue' by Sylvia Zhai

My publication 'Ocean Blue' highlights the widespread problem of plastic debris which threatens marine ecosystems and organisms through ingestion and long-term harm. Through a wealth of photographs and artwork, the book advocates minimising the ecological footprint, restoring the planet to its pristine beauty, and fostering widespread awareness and a sense of shared responsibility to create a more sustainable world.

My portfolio explores marine pollution caused by plastic waste, inspired by my grandmother's environmental activism. Through six narrative photographs, I portray the plight of marine animals and incorporate a fashion magazine aesthetic.

My creative pursuit delves into the issue of plastic pollution in the marine ecosystem, revealing the harmful effects of plastic pollution on marine life. I hope to evoke empathy and prompt people to think about and understand the urgency of environmental protection.
