‘Work Hard, Pay Hard’ by Brone Jaya Murray

‘Work Hard, Pay Hard’ is a contemporary publication inspired by my experience as a young adult trying to navigate through financial hardship and the working world. In addition to this, ‘Work Hard, Pay Hard’ also pays homage to my mum, who worked three jobs simply to ensure my brother and I had a fruitful up-bringing. I will be forever grateful and in awe of her work ethic and strength and have channelled her values throughout my creative process.

My work is vibrant and light-hearted in tone, yet deep and personal at its core - creating a body of work which, aesthetically and textually, communicates to young individuals facing similar challenges to myself. My hope is that my innovative and authentic approach to image-making resonates with my audience, and gives peace of mind to those struggling.
