Marine Sustainability, Policy and Conservation
The Marine Sustainability, Policy and Conservation Evidence (Marine SPACE) research group explores the management of marine resources.
Led by Associate Professor Dr Marija Sciberras, the group is involved in a number of project to help understand the effects of fishing practices on the sea floor and its ecosystem. Through robust evidence synthesis methods, the team are focused on establishing an evidence base and forming research-led guidance to help inform policymakers and those working in the fisheries industry.
The group's research encompasses a wide range of topics, including anthropogenic impacts, ecosystem functioning, benthic ecology, shellfisheries and bottom trawling, the team have led or supported the following projects:
