Empowering entrepreneurial minds through our curriculum

At Heriot-Watt University, we recognise the importance of entrepreneurship in shaping the future, which is why we embed entrepreneurial thinking across our curriculum. From the moment students begin their academic journey, they are encouraged to think creatively and develop the skills they need to turn their ideas into impactful ventures.

Our Entrepreneurial Minds workshops are a cornerstone of this approach, offering first-year and final-year students targeted support at key points in their academic journey. These workshops equip students with the tools and confidence to explore entrepreneurial pathways, whether they are developing a business idea, solving complex problems, or seeking to innovate within their field of study.

We also offer opportunities for students to engage with Student Enterprise Ambassadors, experienced peers who provide guidance, mentorship, and encouragement for those looking to explore entrepreneurial ventures. This peer-led support network ensures that students have access to real-world insights and practical advice, helping them navigate the challenges of starting a business or commercialising their ideas.

By fostering an entrepreneurial mindset across disciplines, we empower our students to become innovative problem-solvers and future leaders. Whether they choose to start their own business or apply these skills within existing organisations, the entrepreneurial curriculum at Heriot-Watt ensures our graduates are ready to make a meaningful impact in the world.
