1. Username and Password
Your HWU username will be sent to you before you complete your enrolment. You will need this username to set up your password.
Your University email is in the format abc123@hw.ac.uk and your username is abc123.
Create/change your password to something you will remember that meets our password policy:

Allow up to 24 hours after enrolling for your IT account to be activated.
Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA)
Multi-factor authentication (MFA) is an additional layer of security you need to access HWU systems and resources. It protects you and Heriot-Watt University from un-authorised access to your account, which may occur if you only use a username and password.
Using your own personal device is the most secure way to use MFA as only you have access to the device, and it is protected by a passcode.
