University award
Heriot-Watt University has held an institutional Bronze Athena Swan Award since 2013. This was upgraded to a Silver Award in 2026, recognising the University's significant progress and sustained commitment to advancing gender equality for both staff and students.
School awards
Our School of Social Sciences and School of Energy, Geoscience, Infrastructure and Society both hold an Athena Swan Bronze award.
Our School of Engineering and Physical Sciences and School of Mathematical and Computer Sciences both hold an Athena Swan Silver award.
