Degree Show 2025: Displayground

Welcome to Displayground, the theme for this year’s Degree Show at Heriot-Watt University, where the spirit of play takes center stage in design. Play is not only a powerful tool for creativity but also a means to explore new possibilities, break boundaries, and encourage innovative thinking. Our graduating students from the School of Textiles and Design have embraced this approach and the versatility of design to challenge conventions, drive innovation, and address global challenges with sustainable solutions. Their work reflects a commitment to both creativity and responsibility, exploring new materials, technologies, and design practices that will shape the future.

Across fashion, textiles, interior and architecture design, digital communication, and fashion branding and promotion, our graduates have developed projects that push the boundaries of design. These projects reflect the future of design, integrating sustainable approaches to create impactful solutions for a rapidly changing world.

Global Connectivity

In a truly global celebration, the Degree Show 2025 will connect our campuses in Scotland and Dubai through an interactive online portal, allowing you to explore and experience the talent and innovation of our students from both regions. This interconnected event highlights the importance of cross-cultural exchange and global collaboration in the design world.

Scottish Borders

The original home of the School of Textiles and Design, graduating students from our Scottish Borders campus will showcase final projects across a range of fashion, textiles, interior design, and digital communication programmes.

Join us opening weekend as we celebrate the achievements of our talented graduates - who are shaping the future of design with sustainability, innovation, and a global perspective - along with our friends from the Heartland Market, who will be providing a creative space for local traders to showcase their talents and products, and inspire the community.

Our state-of-the-art Dubai campus will present their second Degree show after its outstanding success in 2024. Since its establishment, Dubai has been a hub for cutting-edge design education, and this year’s showcase marks another significant milestone in its growing creative community.
